To fix that, you just need a mod to play the game without the CD. Next issue: Windows 10 is having a problem with old games in which it fails to verify if the game's original CD is in the driver, not opening the game. After the installation is complete and you just want to play the game, the process won't interfere any more. If you don't have adobe creative cloud, I suggest you try stopping every unnecessary process until the game installs fine.

I found that by coincidence after closing some adobe processes in the task manager and tried to install the game justĪfter. Sadly that won’t be possible.I had the same problem as you did while installing the game in Windows 7 - in my case, an Adobe process was clashing with the game setup. I’m gutted because I used to love The Sims and I was excited to get back into it. I guess that’s the effect of the incompatibility - overheating, crashing, and other apps running slowly even when The Sims isn’t open. I uninstalled The Sims and rebooted again and it fixed the problems straight away. The Sims app wasn’t open and hadn’t been since the previous night. Once it started up, everything was running really slowly to the point that the mac wasn’t really usable. At last it did turn on and a message came up saying it had shut down because of a problem. The next morning, when I tried to use my mac, it wouldn’t turn on at first (even though I hadn’t shut it down). Eventually I had to stop playing because it was so hot. I carried on regardless, hoping it wouldn’t matter but while I was playing the game for the first time, my mac got ridiculously hot. When I opened this app for the first time, a message popped up saying the app needs to be updated to be compatible with the current macOS. So, Aspyr, just add a few more expansions (of course at an extra price, can’t be getting cocky now) and an easier route of adding modded content and this game will be beyond 5 stars. Furthermore, for such an amazing price point, it’s essentially a bargain. If you are just a general lover of the gameplay of sims and the fun of just messing around, I 10/10 reccomend buying this. Of course a few of the negatives I have previously listed leave me a bit deflated about this rendition, I truly believe the good outweighs the bad. When I first saw Aspyr had made the sims 2 compatible on mac (as previously it was Windows exclusive) I nearly died from a heart attack.

Although of course this app has it’s flaws, for example: it lacks a few of the best expansion packs (Apartment Life, Freetime etc.), difficulty to add modded content and other minor details, it is an impressive software and game to play with. I feel as though it is certainly the best out of the Sims series as it just has the most charming feel to it - it’s simple, but undeniably immersive at the same time. I like, many others, have always had a soft spot for the sims 2. I’m not going to lie, this game is incredible.
